Shift Information: Full Time

Base Pay: $56,000-$65,000 annually (relative to experience) with benefits including healthcare, 401K, vacation and personal time off

Nazareth Pallet Co. is the largest pallet recycler in eastern Pennsylvania, using the most modern equipment for all facets of pallet recycling and decorative mulch manufacturing. We are looking for a candidate with manufacturing and warehouse environment experience and 3-5 years experience in Human Resources and payroll.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinates with department managers for training, interviews, new hire orientations, terminations, performance reviews, safety, and company policies and procedures
  • Recruits, pre-screens and interviews for all job openings using job fairs, trade shows and advertisement placing
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures and benefits
  • Advises management for appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Creates an environment that reinforces company culture while encouraging employee engagement and retention
  • Maintains accuracy and confidentiality of personnel files including personal information, job statuses, and benefit information
  • Manages all processes and functions of payroll system using JetPay payroll system software
  • Manages one part time payroll clerk
  • Comprehends and administers all benefit programs including life, health, dental, and disability insurances, 401K, vacations, accrual of personal time, and leave of absences
  • Responsibly handles information requested through employment verifications, unemployment claims, and other relevant agencies
  • Has working knowledge of corporate grant programs
  • Responds promptly to upper management needs and completes administrative tasks accurately and on time. Follows instructions and responds to management direction
  • Maintains and updates company policies and procedures
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

Job Requirements: The successful candidate should have the following qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and 3-5 years experience in a Human Resources Management role or equivalent combination
  • PHR or SHRM certification highly desirable
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting
  • Previous experience processing payroll using piece rate

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, interpret, and convey documents regarding operations schedules, 401k programs, employee benefit programs, pertinent laws and ordinances, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively through both written word and before an audience
  • Ability to present numerical data effectively


  • Ability to solve problems practically and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Manage competing demands and determine appropriate methods to best resolve and/or improve the situation
  • Include relevant people in decision-making process. Ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions
  • Ability to make timely decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgement, and communicate change effectively
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and react well under pressure

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet (Excel)  and word processing (Word) software
  • In-depth knowledge of JetPay payroll service software
