Trailer Mechanic | Welder

Shift Information: Full-Time, Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30 pm
Job Description: The person in the position of welder / trailer repair is responsible to perform repairs and maintenance on trailer bodies.
Position Qualifications: The successful candidate should meet the following minimum position qualifications:
- Install assemblies made from a variety of materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) when provided with samples, or verbal instructions.
- Must be able to fit and weld using MIG processes. Welds should be aesthetically pleasing with a minimum of grinding.
- Must be able to use acetylene set and plasma machine for burning.
- Good mechanical aptitude, including the ability to use basic hand and measuring tools (which the employee is expected to supply).
- Knowledge of all equipment including the following: saws, ironworkers, drills, cutting torches and welders.
- Other duties as necessitated by change or by direction of management.
Job Requirements: The successful candidate should meet the following minimum physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- The employee must have the physical strength, agility, and balance to climb into, on top of, and under the project as necessary. Climbing a ladder may be required at times as well as kneeling for periods of time.
- Climb to 14′ and work at heights of 14′ to 15′ on top of trailers.
- Ideal candidate must be able to follow schematics, drawings or blueprints and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with truck and trailer bodies preferred.
Compensation: $21 – $24/hr. (commensurate with experience)
